The Young Marines
The Young Marines program educates and inspires youth within our communities by promoting a healthy lifestyle through instructional and adventurous activities. We develop responsible citizens using the volunteer resources of a civilian and military partnership. The teamwork and Esprit de Corps enjoyed by Young Marines help each discover the hero within.

Young Marines Logo
This is a logo taken from the famous raising of the flag in the battle of Iwo Jima. The U.S. Marines mounted it there after a huge battle against the Japanese.
  Boot Camp!
Right now I am in my third week of boot camp. So far it has been tough but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There are still five more weeks of boot camp left. There are six instructors in my unit. There is the Commanding Officer Hunt, The XL Rutledge, the Female Young Marine Advisor Rutledge, Senior Drill Instructor Hall, Instructor Bennett, and Instructor Williams. Our former Commanding Officer is now the Commodore of the Marine Corps League.

Having Fun @ Boot Camp
The First week of Boot Camp was the worst. It was push ups, sit ups, and jogging the whole day. A fellow Marine had also decided to wax the floor with his breakfast. That week we learned Drills, Military courtesy, and we all got in shape.
The Second week was not so bad. We had to learn the history of the Young Marines and was all and all a good week.
Then this week rolls by and at first it is fine and dandy, the Instructor Hall tells the girls to leave the room and for the guys to strip. We did so and the he pulled out the trimmer. Now I am bald . Imagine me in a military haircut. The horror, the pain!

Private First Class
I know it is a long shot, but there is one recruit that come out of boot camp Private First Class skipping a rank, also providing a one way ticket to freedom. The higher the rank, the more freedom available to earn. I plan to be that one person out of boot camp. That would be awesome because then I would only have to wait three months to become Lance Corpral.
